Becca’s Lap Band Story with Before and After Pics!!

Posted by Lori on May 2, 2008

Becca, Indiana Lap Band video blogger extraordinaire, has a new episode up in her Lap Band video blog. She lets us watch her adjustement. She comes back a week later and talks about how she feels. Her physician is Dr. Keith McEwen – whom she obviously adores. Always a good thing.

Wow! Imagine my surprise to find my tummy staring at me from a new blog I peeked at! Hi Lori – I’m Becca, and I just found your incredibly informative blog.

I started the youtube blog first because I had some funny thing I wanted to say about being fat and getting less fat. I also hoped to put something out there that was more informative for those seeking information than it was a personal story. And of course – like you mentioned – I absolutely love my surgeon, and wanted to direct Midwest area band seekers right to his doorstep.

Thanks for linking me, and if you or your readers have lap band questions (or ideas for more blogs) just let me know. This weekend, episode 4 will be up and available and I’ll be talking about “Non-Scale Victories”, or “How thrilled I am that I can cross my legs again for the first time in almost 3 years.”

Hi Becca, I am in the beginning stages of trying to get Lap Band surgery. I go next week to get a referal to see if I can get it. So, I guess like you I have been researching the procedure and I really wanted a “real” person’s view, I really like the information you have put out here and will return to see your progress. Good luck! And one question, do you have more energy now? ok two, are you ever hungry?

    Debbie,

This isn’t Becca’s blog. If you click on the YouTube image, though, you can get to her YouTube channel and leave a question for her there.

In the meantime, to answer your questions – no, you won’t feel hunger. When you have a Lap Band, your stomach is so tiny that it fills up quickly and signals you’re brain you’re full.

Here are a couple posts you should read on the subject:

Are there any blogs from men? I am scheduled to have my lapbanding in two months and would like to read from a man’s perspective. Nothing agaisnt you ladies, but we are different. Do men have this done? Or are we just too proud to admit it – lol?

Now that you’ve had the band a year and a half, has it been a success or more of a work in progress. I found that for myself it took about 2 years before everything clikced.

      Georgie,

I don’t think Becca has updated in quite a while. That’s a shame because she did a really good job of talking about the process. As for me, I’ve only had mine 2.5 weeks. I’m sitting here sipping broth as I type a way.
